Sunday 31 October Celebrating Cape Town

We kick things off on Sunday afternoon with a trip up Table Mountain in the revolving aerial cable way (weather permitting), followed by a guided tour once we’re at the top.

Table Mountain was inaugurated as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2012 because, in the words of Bernard Weber, founder-president of the New 7 Wonders Foundation: ‘Table Mountain is not only a spectacular backdrop for Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it also offers visitors the unique experience of actually walking on top of the mountain and enjoying the most awesome panoramic views.’ What better way, therefore, for us to celebrate Cape Town!

After the tour, we head back down to the city, as the sun begins to set, where a welcome cocktail awaits us at the charming Life Grand Café (can you believe that what is now a lively restaurant started out life as a post office back in 1902!), right by the water’s edge at Cape Town harbour.

Monday 1 November  – Celebrating Africa

Join us at GOLD restaurant in the city centre, for an evening of African cuisine, dancing, drumming singing, and hand-washing and face-painting rituals.

Africa is the second largest land mass on earth and home to hundreds of tribes and ethnic and social groups – a diversity that is reflected in the 14-course dining experience you will savour at GOLD, as well as in the people you will meet there – including some very tall puppets from Mali.

Tuesday 2 NovemberFree Evening

Although Tuesday will be kept free for you to enjoy your evening in smaller groups and thereby take advantage of the vast choice of excellent restaurants in the area, we will shortly post a list of our recommended restaurants for different types of cuisine, in order to facilitate your choice.

Wednesday 3 NovemberCelebrating South Africa

For the grand finale, we will wish you farewell with an evening of cuisine and entertainment that celebrates our host country, South Africa.

We start our farewell journey shortly after lunch on Wednesday, with a scenic drive along Cape Town’s jaw-dropping coastline, stopping off along the way to snap a few photos and enjoy a glass of wine and a bit of biltong.

Our journey ends at the majestic Cape Point Vineyards, where a sumptuous, traditionally South African fare awaits, including succulent meat and fish dishes from the braai (or barbecue), accompanied by fine wines and local craft gin and beer – all the ingredients for a truly South African experience.
